A special thanks to my editors and beta readers for all your help with Pryophage. You all caught some things that totally slipped past me and made some great suggestions for improvement. Ideally all of those changes will be implemented by the end of the weekend, at which point the book will go live for pre-order on Amazon. The targeted release date is April 16, one week after the release of Modern Adventures with Monster Girls 3!
And now, onto the news I promised last time. Or at least, some of it. I actually only just realized while I was writing this that I put “around the corner!” twice in my bullet pointed list–this is why you reviewers and beta readers are so wonderful!
Today I’m talking about my plans for the Lightfall Superhero series. There is definitely going to be a 5 book minimum, especially now that I have a new and seriously kickass author I’m working with.
On that subject, the previous artist finally got back to me. She had some health issues that took her completely away from work. My condolences to her and best wishes toward her continued newfound good-health. I probably won’t be using her services again though. She’s very talented but I value communication and the new artist I have working on the covers is very quick to get back to me and make requested adjustments at a comparable rate.
I’ve gone ahead and hired my new artist to redo the covers for both Lightfall and Mercury so that they are in line with Pryophage’s style and I’ve got to say–WOWZA! I’ll be showing those new pieces of cover art exclusively to my mailing list before I trade them out on Amazon. Current plan is to change all the covers around the same time Pryophage goes up for pre-order.
The subsequent book, Glowbeast, which will feature Kristin, is tentatively scheduled for an early May release, but that’s all contingent upon how things go with my new series. It could be sooner, it could be later. My preference would certainly be for sooner and I am doing exercises to increase my daily word count to bring you more books faster. Starlight, which will primarily focus on Tiffany, will launch about a month later. After that? Well, it depends on the sales. They aren’t bad, I’m launching my new series sooner, rather than later because sales just aren’t where I’d like them to be, despite positive reviews. I’m hoping that this will change as the series expands, as it did with The Horned Mage, but I’m not going to count my chickens before they hatch.
On a side note, completely unrelated to Lightfall, there’s some new character art over on my Patreon page. If you don’t want to pledge to see it now, that’s fine! I’ll be including it in the illustrated edition of Issue 2, which, if all goes according to plan and Mr. Murphy doesn’t decide to lay down his law, should release to everyone who subscribes to my mailing list alongside the release of Modern Adventures with Monster Girls Issue 3!
